On Friday, 28th February 2025 (29th Shaban 1446 AH), the Hilal of Ramadan 1446 was sighted in the UK (Local), according to the rules of Shariah with binoculars (Ref: Karachi Darul Uloom Fatwa [2683/41] > [2569/20]). Therefore, Shaban 1446 AH will have 29 days, and the month of Ramadan 1446 AH will start on Saturday, 1st March 2025, InShaAllah. On Wednesday, 1st January 2025 (29th Jumada-II 1446 AH), the Hilal of Rajab 1446 was sighted in the UK (Local), and we have received partial testimonies (from two sisters), but are awaiting further testimonies from male witnesses.[See bit.ly/TestimonyPolicy ] Therefore, Jumada-II 1446 AH will complete 30 days, and Rajab 1446 will start from Friday, 3rd January 2025, InshaAllah. This declaration may be backdated after receiving further testimonies. Please note that it is a communal obligation (Fardh Al-Kifaya) for UK Muslims to report their monthly sightings, to minimise delays with declarations.
