Observation Report for Jumada-I 1448 AH

Mr Hameed Mamaniat commented: "Almost total cloud cover today in Blackburn, apart from maybe 0.25 degrees and under. It was not imaged, nor was it seen. Note: At this location, the moon set 1 minute before sunset".

Shaykh Suliman Gani commented: "Before Maghrib Salah, it was raining very lightly. I attended the Maghrib Salah at Purley Masjid. I went to check the weather again it was still cloudy with a light drizzle. Because the skies were not clear, I decided not to go to Riddlesdown to see the moon".

Mr Irfan Momin commented: "It was totally cloudy and foggy. Very hard to see the moon".

Mr Faruq Bilbe commented: "It was raining and totally cloudy. The sun was not visible and it was not possible to locate the moon before sunset or in the 5 minutes to Moonset. There were no breaks in the cloud cover. Knowing that my usual sighting location is not good for very low moons, I tried a more elevated position. The sunset should have been visible on the distant horizon to the right of the picture, but the houses would have made spotting the Hilal difficult, if there had been any gaps in the clouds, as the moon was so far to the left of the sun and low today. I tried walking down the hill but didn’t find any gaps between the buildings that offered a good view in the right direction. I will try another location tomorrow, InshaAllah".

Mr Ashruf Amod commented: "I was not at the usual site, but I looked near the Wexham Hospital in Slough. The sky was totally cloudy, and there was no sighting".

Mr Atiq Hussain commented: "The weather was totally cloudy in Stockton-on-Tees. It was also not possible to see the sunset or the sunset position".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was totally cloudy today (12/10/2026) in York, so the moon was not seen. Most of the UK had similar weather forecasts, so there was no other positive sighting news at the time of this report".

Mr Hatim El-Harrak commented: "I have captured the crescent moon photos through my camera lens in Tangier, Morocco, for the month of Jumada al-Ula 1448".

Mr Atiq Hussain commented: "I arrived early, before sunset. The position of the sun could be seen before sunset; however, in the direction of the moon, it was very cloudy, and the moon was not sighted".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "The weather was partly cloudy in York today (13/10/2026), and I was able to see the setting sun through a cloud break. There was a dark patch of cloud above the horizon about 1° high. However, I was able to see the moon with binoculars, but it went into the dark cloud before I could take a photo. It was not seen with the naked eye due to the dark clouds".
