Prediction: The crescent visibility map below for Rabi-ul Thani 1444 (RHS) shows that the moon will be born on 25 October 2022 at 10:49 GMT/UT, but it will not be visible by the naked-eye anywhere in the UK to Morocco (MA) region. However, on 26 October 2022, the moon will be visible in Morocco but not in the UK until the next day. Hence, the month of Rabi-ul Thani is most likely to start from 27 and 28 October 2022 in Morocco and UK, respectively, InShaAllah. On Wednesday 26th October 2022 (29th Rabi-ul Awwal 1444 AH) the Hilal of Rabi-ul Thani 1444 was sighted in Morocco, but not in the UK. We have also received a positive sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).

Therefore, the start of the month based on the Regional (UK – MA) and Local (UK-only) Moon Sighting criteria are given below.

Regional (UK - MA): the month of Rabi-ul Awwal 1444 AH will have 29-days and the month of Rabi-ul Thani 1444 AH will start from Thursday 27th October 2022, InShaAllah.

Local (UK-only): the month of Rabi-ul Awwal 1444 AH will complete 30-days and the month of Rabi-ul Thani 1444 AH will start from Friday 28th October 2022, InShaAllah.

Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement from Safar to Shaban (as they usually follow the Ummul Qura Calendar in these months).
